Smoke hoods are used mainly to reduce the size of the fireplace opening to improve the draw of the chimney/flue. They are also used as simply a decorative item. Normally they are fixed "inside" the top of the opening, slightly protruding into the room but can also be made to fit to the wall on the outside face of the opening. If you require face fixing please state this when you make your enquiry. Our smoke hoods come with an expanding rod ( up to 22" wide) for ease of fixing or can simply be drilled and fixed with screws.
